Portfolio
Portfolio Invests primarily in fixed income securities of government and government-related issuers and, to a lesser extent, of corporate issuers in emerging market countries.
Primary risks: There is no assurance that a mutual fund will achieve its investment objective. Funds are subject to market risk, which is the possibility that the market values of securities owned by the fund will decline and that the value of fund shares may therefore be less than what you paid for them. Accordingly, you can lose money investing in this fund. Please be aware that this fund is subject to certain additional risks, including those associated with:
Fixed-income securities. Subject to credit and interest-rate risk. Credit risk refers to the ability of an issuer to make timely payments of interest and principal. Interest-rate risk refers to ?uctuations in the value of a ?xed-income security resulting from changes in the general level of interest rates. In a declining interest-rate environment, the portfolio may generate less income. In a rising interest-rate environment, bond prices fall. Credit quality.
Investments in securities rated below investment grade (commonly known as "junk bonds") present greater risk of loss to principal and interest than investment in higher-quality securities.
Foreign and emerging markets. Investments in foreign markets entail special risks such as currency, political, economic, and market risks. The risks of investing in emerging-market countries are greater than the risks generally associated with foreign investments.
Derivative instruments. Investments in derivatives could magnify volatility. Nondiversi?cation. Nondiversi?ed funds often invest in a more limited number of issuers. As such, changes in the ?nancial condition or market value of a single issuer may cause greater volatility. Leverage. Should the fund employ leverage, the portfolio may experience increased volatility.
